An asset-based carrier that only sells its own trucks eventually tells a customer no. A pure broker has no assets to fall back on when the market turns. Regal runs both: the owned fleet covers the committed programs, and AppiaWay covers the surge, the off-network lanes and the modes we do not own. Because both sit inside the same relationship, a load that moves brokered is still visible on the same reporting as a load that moves on our own equipment.
What the service covers
Where brokerage does the work
Surge and seasonal capacity
Peak-season volume that exceeds the owned fleet is covered through vetted carrier capacity rather than being declined or delayed. Capacity is secured against a forecast rather than bid on the spot market the week it is needed.
- Forecast-based peak capacity planning
- Spot coverage when volume exceeds plan
- Retail peak and promotional surge support
Off-network lanes
Lanes outside the Pacific Northwest, Southern California and Southeast coverage areas are covered through the carrier network, so a customer does not need a second provider for the parts of the map Regal does not run itself.
- National lane coverage
- Backhaul and one-way lane matching
- Cross-border coordination where required
Mode flexibility
Truckload, LTL, expedited, flatbed, temperature-controlled and intermodal, selected against the shipment’s actual requirement rather than the equipment that happens to be available.
- Truckload and LTL
- Expedited and time-critical
- Flatbed and specialized equipment
- Intermodal and rail
Carrier vetting and compliance
Carriers are qualified on authority, insurance and safety record before they haul, and monitored after. Brokered does not mean unvetted; the standard is the one Regal applies to its own operation.
- Operating authority and insurance verification
- Safety rating monitoring
- Contracted carrier agreements
- Cargo and liability coverage confirmation
One relationship, one report
Brokered and asset moves appear together on your reporting, with the distinction visible. Tendering, tracking and settlement run through the same team you already work with.
- Single point of contact across asset and brokered freight
- Consolidated tracking and reporting
- One invoice and settlement process

Common questions
What is AppiaWay?
AppiaWay is Regal's freight brokerage operation. It extends the network beyond the owned fleet with vetted third-party carrier capacity, under the same customer relationship.
Why use a broker that also owns assets?
Because the asset fleet covers the committed base and the brokerage covers what exceeds it. A pure broker has nothing to fall back on when capacity tightens; a pure asset carrier eventually has to decline volume.
How are carriers qualified?
Carriers are verified on operating authority, insurance and safety record before hauling, under contracted carrier agreements, and monitored on an ongoing basis.
Which modes are available?
Truckload, LTL, expedited, flatbed, temperature-controlled and intermodal.
Can I use brokerage without using Regal warehousing?
Yes. Brokerage is available as a standalone service, though most customers use it alongside a warehousing or transportation program.
Cover the lanes your assets do not reach
Send us the lanes you are struggling to cover and we will quote them against both the owned fleet and the carrier network.
